Bonita
The snow was really pretty yesterday. The big, fat, slow-falling flakes straight out of a movie. They even twinkled in the light of the streetlights as I was walking home. It was a total romance movie, when it should have been Christmas Eve and the happy couple was kissing under the streetlight.
Know what else I find pretty?
This:
It's my favourite flower from Guatemala. There, they call them "Cola de Cameron" or Shrimp's Tail. I'm sure gardening experts (such as La Gringa, if you're reading) could tell us the real name for them. But they do kind of have the shape of a shrimp, don't they? Here some are in a fountain. I prefer the really bright-coloured ones. The deep red ones are my fave.
In Canada, my favourite flowers are tulips. Also the brighter, darker colours. So, boys thinking about wooing me with flowers, take note.

sorry, but that would be Camaron , not cameron for the shrimp flower.
Alpinia purpurata, common name red ginger. They have a nice odor, too, don't they?
Thanks for the spelling correction, Emy. Of course I know that. Cola de Cameron could be another thing altogether. That's evidence that I don't have enough time when I do my postings. If we want to be really exact, there's also an accent on the 'o': camarĂ³n
Gringa: Thank you, oh wise one. I knew you'd be able to come through for me on this one. The sight and smell of them would be so amazing right now.
My fave still has to be the gerbera daisies. Definitely the brighter the better, but I love the ones that have the white fringe around them. But the camaron does look very beautiful.
