Flasher

I am a flasher. Not by choice, however.

I was in the gym this morning and at my gym Tuesdays and Thursdays are also sauna days. Why they only have the sauna functioing two days a week is beyond me, but that's the way it works.

So I was changing after a lovely sauna, all relaxed and feeling good when HELLO...the door opens. Those men doing weights outside got a bit of a surprise, I reckon. And if I get whistles and hisses on the street when I wear my soccer shorts out on the way to a game (which really are not in the least bit sexy) or when I'm wearing a skirt down to my knees (because my calves are oh-so-sexy??), this would almost make a man here explode, I imagine.

See, there's a bit of a design flaw in my gym. The women's change room is directly behind the large open weight room frequented by men yearning to look like the Latino version of Ah-nold. And the door opens right into the part where women strip down.

It seems like every second person in this country is studying architecture. What's up with that? Honestly, I only know one architect in Canada. Anyway, I'd say that the architecture program could use some improvements if this is what the graduates come up with... or perhaps it was a male architect who has a gym membership and this was his little joke.

One solution would be to simply change the direction the door opens. That would help a bit. Or just add a little wall or divider on either side. Not too difficult. We'll see how many mañanas it takes for something to change.

Now I'm reminded of when I did a news story around 5 years ago about some flasher in a city park in Canada. Cree-py... this dirty guy who for some reason liked to expose himself to people who really weren't asking for the view. I'm definitely not one of those.
